Found a scorpion in the house, ate iguana soup, felt really weird riding inside a car, felt even weirder inside the house of my branch president, whose house is really nice for nicaraguan standards but in the states is an average apartment or town house thing. well yeah we are striving to do better in this little town of mateare and I believe I am going to see lots of little miracles in this little nicaraguan town.

milagritos y señales pequeñas (small miracles and signs)
so this week had been full of its ups and downs. but none the less for sure one thing I have learned is that God knows who we are where we are, our problems and is willing to give us little miracles and little signs just let us know that he isn`t to o far when we feel that he is so far away. To see that God answers the simple fervent prayer of one of his children is something good to know that he cares enough to answer them although it is always in his own time and own way, these little signs he gives us from day to day show how much he really loves us that he really is there. sometimes I feel that challenges and doubts come just so we can learn to believe, and act on our faith, amyway so yeah the week was great.

So hello world I had changes!! I currently reside in the little town of mateare population yeah I don´t know and probaly no one does...
anyway it is pretty tuanis and sits on the beautiful lake managua! (well beautiful minus the trash all over the beach and the pollution...) but that is just the little bad parts to the beautiful lake with vulcán momotombo in the background!
I have a new comp and he doesn´t speak english which is great!!! and my accent is getting better I think and on average I like ten words of english each day!!! yeah I probably will have really bad english when I get back...
Speaking of which I feel like I will never will want to leave this crazy wonderful beautiful place called nicaragua!
We went to Managua this morning and I reccieved my cedula of residence which pretty much means a green card! so practically SOY NICA!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah managua is crazy and there are alot of people there!!! SO i have decided if there was a southern accent of spanish, It would definitely be the spanish of nicaragua!!! oh yeah!!! de la pues,

January 14
so this week I have learned alot of how the results of what your doing really show if something is good or not. This sunday I saw two jovenes oh yeah english... young men that I baptized bear thier testimony of what they knew was true and one of them has committed to serve a mision and I am think the other one will too. I have also seen a young man who has only been a meber for two weeks teach his aunt about what he believes that is true. And also I have seen 25 young people load up in a truck head off to the next town over and spread out and meet with the less active members of Realejo to help them come back to chuch and start a sacrament meeting there every sunday night. I have seen many young people touched by the uplifting experience they had at SOY (efy) and seen how thier testimonies have been strengthened and fortified. And all this has already made the two years worth it. Sometimes it is easy to get discouraged when people don´t want to change or let us down. But even then simple joys like that make it all worth it. some people get to see the fruits of thier labors imediately others later and sometimes some people never are able to see them in thier lifetimes. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity in this wonderful, crazy place called NICARAGUA and if I get changed soon I will deeply miss all the wonderful people I have met and got to know here in chinandega.

This week has been rather great looking back but during it did not seem as such sometime. lots of things to worry about lots of things we didn`t have time to do. lots of things we need to do. yeah it happens but from this week i have definitely learned one thing, God works us until we feel like we have done just about everything and sometimes things we had such high hopes for don`t turn out but then after we feel that lots of things have not turned out so good is when god gives us the little miracle we need.
and then as I learned in 1 nefi 17 after we find our land of promise afer trekking trough the wilderness, that is when GOd asks us to build a ship. or to go above and beyond what we have been. so we got this far and todavia se faulta un poco entonces vamanos y haremos lo que manda EL Señor!!! I am still lacking a bit, but let's go and do what the Lord has commanded!
adios!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy new year to all that happen to be reading! christmas here in nicaragua was great! and there will be more celebrating by the inhabitants of chinandega tonight too. just an update! the volcanoe san cristobal erupted which is likek thirty minute away but it wasn´t really a big deal just rained ash and it gets in everything... but here we are and loking on the bright side We had a Jarrón azul baptism yesterday He is a young guy named elvin and he is pretty cool and had lots of friends in the church and wanted to be baptized. I hope for him a good future in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lately, I have been feeling somewhat inadequqte in that alot of the things I have been doing haven´t been turning out to well but my compañero has reminded me that I really don´t have that much time in the mission and still am learning. So, I will set as one of my goals for this new year to be more humble and patient!

¡¡¡UNA SUPER GRANDE FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!!!!!!
Ahh! Sorry I am a month behind! Here is Kacey's Christmas email, more coming soon!
December 24
Pues, so here is the deal. It is chrismas and I can´t believe it. when I opened the envelope on june 2 that said I would be walking the streets of Nicaragua declaring the gospel, August 22 when I would start my mission seemed so far away. and on that day Christmas seemed so far away to but here I am completing four months in the mission last week. Craziness!!!
But, one thing that I have learned so far is that as soon as I think I have learned something I realize that there is so much more to learn. And I think that is an important attitude to have in life to realize that we don´t know everything and that we definitely need help in what ever we are doing but anyway, voy a terminar ésta con algo en español. I'll end with something in Spanish.
So the mission is something that has changed my attitudes about many things. I believe that without this experience in my life, my life would not be as good as it could. Although, every day here is a new all difficulty or challenge. .....and try to overcome it with the strength you have and what the Lord gives me. but, I don't have much more time to write but I want to say a few more good things.

I know that my Redeemer lives, and that He hears our prayers, every person in the world as well. And when we think we are most alone is when He is bringing the most Forteleza and when He is the closest to the most is when are alone. My Spanish is not so good and maybe I'm a shy person. But this is the most important message in the world and what has to happen is that all people have the opportunity to listen to this message and pray and ask God if it is true.
bueno les quiero mucho, éste mundo es triste, feliz, loco, y tan tuanis todo el tiempo pero, vivala y busque el bueno en cada día y ayude las manos caídos en tristeza.
