zapatos polvosos

May 2

well this week has been pretty good except my companion was sick off and on throughout the week and stuff so we couldn´t work as much as I had hoped but our investigators are doing good and the two families are pretty cool and stuff! Octavio the young man we are teaching is pretty awesome and he and one of carlos and jobanela´s sons are going to be baptized this saturday which is pretty cool. please pray for carlos so he can find work, he doesnt have documentation or education and work is very hard to find así. he is doing odd jobs fishing, selling firewood and repairing shoes but it isn't really cutting it to what he needs to support his three kids and wife who lost her job recently.

but they are faithful even through these trials. the presidente of the branch here is really helping us out he can only help thursday at the noche de hermanamiento umm hard to translate activity to help encourage unity in the rama. and on sundays but he still visits with us and follows up on how our families that we visit are doing. he is like 26 and served his mission in puerto rico and is the only member in his family, he got married in the temple in guatamala with his wife from managua who is also a return missionary two years ago. They have one small crazy little daughter, to me it is like if nate was a branch president. crazy huh? anyway they are the bomb and always feed us good on sunday nights in their rather nice house which could be compared to a two bedroom apartment in the u.s. but there isnt a/c. but anyway they are the bomb. I love nicaragua and how my polished shoes turn out brown with the dust of the streets here within twenty minutes of leaving the house. but at the end of the day looking at those dusty shoes makes me feel that maybe today I did a little bit of the work of the savior today. walking the streets, and teaching of him. Every step in the nicaragua dust another step closer to my God who is making a man of God out of a young florida boy.

I absolutely love the people of this beautiful land who are so resilient, to the challenges that face them. and so ready to rely on God with their problems and see the gospel as so much more important than worldy goods.

les quiero mas que pueden comprender!!

adios pues!!
